Explore your inner and outer worlds with Yoga + Hiking led by Sedona Alvarez.  Start your mid-morning with a trek through the beautiful forest surrounding Unity Village to a secret, natural cave.  Hiking in restorative environments is known to relieve stress, reduce mental fatigue, sharpen the senses and build total body strength among a bounty of other benefits.  Your invigorating hike is complimented by a peaceful, introspective outdoor yoga practice at Unity Village.  Love on yourself with an all-levels vinyasa flow class designed to help you tune into your natural rhythm and find more balance on every level.  Take this opportunity to recharge and create optimal alignment with this soul-nourishing practice.

Things to know:
-Come fed and hydrated (bring a water bottle)
-Wear appropriate footwear (tennis shoes or hiking boots are recommended)
-Bring your yoga mat (just for the yoga portion)
-Sunscreen and bug repellant are always good to have

Kemetic Yoga for All Levels

This workshop will begin with a 45 minute to an hour yoga flow, welcoming all levels of practice. We will focus on geometric progression and Rule of Four Breathing, Afterward, we will explore the fundamentals of Kemetic Yoga. Supporting documents will be distributed and dialogue will occur about specific benefits of poses in our bodies. Participants will be encouraged to share their personal experience and will leave with prints of poses, Egyptian Hieroglyphs, as well as information about Ancient Kemet.

Learn the 12 archetypes of the zodiac and the importance of major planetary position to help deepen your own practice and become more in tune to the language of your soul! Part lecture, part movement, we will discuss the relationship between the elements of the zodiac and the correlating elements of yoga and of the chakras. Fascia is a network of connective tissues running the entire body, over muscles and organs. This network through the entire body needs to be mobile and fluid for improved function and mobility.  Join us for a 90 min class giving some basic information on fascia and how to start rolling it to keep functioning and fluid without fancy tools.  Afer working the key areas of feet, back and hips, enjoy a little time to feel the restoration in your body. This class is appropriate for all people, even with no yoga experience.

The Subtle Body~Yin Yoga and the Chinese Meridian System

This workshop will explore the intersection between Yin Yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine by weaving yin asana and the 14 major meridian channels in the body. Practitioners will come away with more knowledge about which organs are associated with each meridian channel and how to recognize imbalances within the subtle body while holding postures for longer periods of time, targeting the fascia for a full body release.
*the use of props is not required for this particular practice.
